So here is the little monkey on his first day in the two year old class room.

I love that he puts up with me and lets me have my momtographer moments!

It was so cool picking him up after school and hearing him tell me all about his day. He morphed from a baby into a little boy this summer. I LOVE hearing "I had fun with bikes...I had fun bugs...I play friends." So amazing seeing him grow.

I was going through my external drive and found these ~~gems~~ photos of Ezra that I had put away to edit when I had time..but then forgot about them. I had forgotten how much I loved the curl in his hair...his legs were even chunkier back then. I remember that he had been home from school because he was sick. I see his medicine and instant breakfast on the counter. He wasn't wanting to eat and I was worried he wasn't getting his nutrients..he hated the instant breakfast and he still wont touch it. Love this chunky kid.

Back in April I received a call from out local shelter (Upland..an amazing place with a staff who TRULY cares about the animals.) saying that they had a litter of four kittens, days old, that needed to be cared for. Because I am so impulsive and love pretty much anything alive with eyes I said we would take them in. Foster them until they were old enough to be adopted. This litter was interesting..there were many ups and sadly a major down when we lost one to an ugly virus. Very sad. It is amazing how attached you become to these little creatures as you care for them day and night. Well today our last two went to their new homes. Such a bitter-sweet moment! It is amazing to see them find loving homes but also sad to see them go....Anyhow, here are a couple sweet photos of my boy and the girls.

This is my friend's little Boy. I cant believe how fast he is growing. I swear he was just a tiny floppy newborn and now he crawls everywhere, eyes real people food, and has the best personality. So easy going, inquisitive, and QUICK to smile. Love him. Its exciting each time I see them Ezra and him interact a little more and a little more. Gonna be so fun when they are running around together.

Every one meet Aidyn. Here he is a day away from his fifth birthday.
His mom and I have known each other since I was in Ms White's first/second grade combo class. I was a first grader who was forced to wear knit sweater skirt sets and had painfully short hair. She was a second grader who would sneek her pet rats to school and get caught. Together we saved many bees from drowning in the Cedergrove Elementary school sprinklers. We swore that her kid sister doll came to life at night and gave her real kid sister a real hard time. One time after making paper mache bowls in her backyard we found and emerald beetle drowned in her pool. We gave it cpr and brought it back to life. Our parents gave each other permission to spank one and other's kids (they never did!) Thats what kind of friends we were. We had pet jumping spiders who lived in a coffee can. I remember Dancing to Blind Melon and sneaking into her Ivy Fort out back. We used to talk about how when we grew up we would not have any kids (Eww!) Instead, we would have a large warehouse with many rooms and we would have all sorts of animals living in there. Bats seem to stand out. Some how Michael Jackson was involved with this. Most of my favorite childhood memories involve Aidyn's mother. So happy that after nearly twenty years (wow) I can still call this girl a friend. In just over a month Dorae will be welcoming a baby girl! Can't wait to get my hands on her and get some fun new born shots...Ah!

Oh I miss that lip. The Pudge. The smooshy face. It is almost like every day you have to give up or lose something as your babies grow.

Thinking about it though, I guess it is more of a trade. I miss this face but now I have a boy who speaks (and signs!) and walks through the house quietly saying "rawr" like a tiger. A boy who loves kitties. A boy that gives kisses and plays chase. A boy who loves his momma. I wouldn't give up any of these things. Not even to get that face back. Lucky for me I have these photos to look back on...cliche I know but so true!

So this past Sunday I was lucky enough to take photos of Jodi and her beautiful/fun/intelligent family. We went to a Laguna beach called "Three Arch Bay." Ok, I sware I dont know how it happened but I am pretty sure we got in our car and actually DROVE to hawaii!! This beach was beyond beautiful! The water was see-through clear and bright blue/green! Today Ezra and I met up with my dear friend Jodi and her sister and niece and headed down to Newport to meet up with some friends. It was pretty chilly down at the beach so there was not much water play for Ezra (or me!!) There was a playground to a school..on the beach that we played on for a while. Can you imagine going to or working at!) a school where your playground was ON A BEACH?! So awesome! Anywho...here are a couple of photos of the boo. He was such a good boy and even took a nap in his stroller...what a doll ;)

So today I did something that I don't normally do. I took photos of things..er..places..not people. It was a challenge to try and get my eye to look at framing a little differently but I think it is good to go out of your comfort zone every so often and I am proud of some of the results...

So when we were walking today I came across two goldmines! The first was a vintage piece of furnature someone had out out in the ally! Made me curse a little for not bring my "good" camera!!! Tomorrow morning Ezra and I are going back to the ally and praying the furnature is still there! Second was behind a store that looks to be remodeling and there are shelves and things in nice bright colors...Cant wait to see photos from here.....

Lazy Days.

So as the title states...today was a lazy day. Ezra and I took a much needed three hour nap (late night with the Flaming Lips for mommy) and then just shmoosed around. We did go on a walk though which led to discovering some interesting shoot locations. I only had my point and shoot with me though, doh! Anywho...after our walk we went across the road to the bike trail (which runs east to west) to get some fun evening shots...and here they are...I maybe could have combed his hair and put a clean shirt on him but hey...he is a boy. He is a boy who finds dirt and gets dirty..so here is the reality of it!

The begining..or something like it.

So I suppose we will start off with today. It was such a simple yet amazing day spent with Ezra. I am really trying these last few weeks I have to spend with him before work starts up again. Most days consist of:
Wake up.
Water garden, entertain dogs, and wait for Ez to poo. (I know I know.)
Breakfast for the Boo and I.
Play for a few hours..park..garden..walk..Ez pushes around his beloved yellow school bus and I try to steal some computer/me time. I normally get 30 seconds to 2 minutes before he takes note of my absence and comes to track me down. Yelling and grunting the whole way.
Lunchie snack.
Baby Einstien and books in Mommy's bed then Ez naps. SUCCESS!
I get some time to edit photos, draw, re-watch the last episode of True Blood, Zone, whatever.
Normally Rusty ends up waking the baby with his delightful barking. Love him!
Then it is lunch and then we are off.
Afternoons are for Errends or friends or..?
Evenings I usually stalk Ezra with my Camera.
Dinner.
Play.
Ez to bed.
I get "Me" time. Usually consumed by the same things as nap time.

And now to today...
We went to beautiful Memorial Park in the AM.
Ezra endured mommy's photo shoot. He heard some kids yelling so he yelled back at them.
He searched for sticks and found many.

He crawled to the very highest point of the play structure. I broke into a little bit of a cold sweat. Everything turned out fine though. Ezra was happy that they had woodchips instead of sand because wood and sticks taste better then rock.
After he spat out the mulch we came home and did our thing.
After sleep time we were both itching to get out. I loaded Ezie in the car, armed myself with my camera, tripod, and grahm crackers and off we went with no destination in mind.
We ended up at the base of the mountians and went on a little hiking adventure. I say little because it's tricky to get too far when you have to carry your camera, tripod, camera bag, and purse. Oh, and we cant forget the 25lb baby who came along for the ride..turned out wonderful though. I didn't realize how much power lines buzz.

After our hike we went to watch the small planes land at Cable airport. Ezra would spot the planes high in the sky they yell and point. It wa sa little nerve racking for him when they came in close but all in all I think he had a nice time...
